FAMOUS STORYBOOK VILLA CAN BE YOURS!
Casa Gala is a 4-bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom house built in the Colonial Mexican Style with incredible architectural details. The owners are Barry and Thia Golson. Barry is a well-known author who wrote about their adventures building this Mexican villa in his prize-winning book, “Gringos in Paradise.” Here’s their description of the house:
“We built Casa Gala for flexibility: there are two floors, with two bedrooms each, with separate living rooms, kitchen and entrances. The first thing you see entering the wrought-iron gates is a wildly lush garden with two tall 2 tall "aqueduct" arches, cascading water into our 30-by-15 pool. There’s a thatch-roofed “ palapa" pool house with its own 1/2 bath room.
‘On the main floor, open to the garden and pool, is our living and dining area, which glows at night from the lanterns along the hacienda wall. The house’s two wings are the “green” and “blue” bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and there’s an inside den for rainy days. All bedrooms are air-conditoned. ‘The upstairs self-contained apartment has one queen-sized bedroom and 1 very small double-sized bedroom with its own sink. The upstairs terrace overlooks the pool and garden. A spiral staircase leads to a a large rooftop pavilion with a seating area where you can take in the sea breezes.
Casa Gala comes turnkey with all of the furnishings and artwork that have been collected over the years. With its 10-foot walls, and off street parking, there is both security and total privacy; our visitors say they feel they are in their own world, a garden paradise. All this, a block from the beach and a 7 minutes' walk to the village plaza.
